This USB extension cable is an active repeater style USB cable not just a passive USB extension cable. It is an active device that allows you to extend your existing USB cable by 5 metres. The USB signals going in and out of the extension cable are buffered to assure signal quality and the meeting of the USB's Electrical and Timing Specifications. Up to five* USB Active Extension Cables can be connected together to give a maximum length of 26 metres (80 feet). It regenerates the USB signal for maximum performance over extended distances up to a maximum transfer rate of 480 Mbps.
